LIBRARY CIRCULATION SERVICES CLERKEvenings and WeekendsThe Concordia University College of Alberta library is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a part-time position for an eight-month contract, from September 5, 2007 to April 23, 2008. Coverage is required for the following days and times;FALL SEMESTER:Tuesday & Wednesday 5:00/6:00 p.m. ? 10:00 p.m.WINTER SEMESTER:Monday & Wednesday 5:00/6:00 p.m. ? 10:00 p.m. *No hours between Christmas and New Year?s or during Reading Week Responsibilities: Reporting to the Circulation Services Supervisor, the clerk is primarily responsible for providing outstanding front-line library service to members of the Concordia community. Using the SIRSI Integrated Library System, the clerk handles circulation of library materials, accepts fine payments, provides basic reference services, assists with routine operations of the department (sorting materials, shelving, filing, phone answering), helps process interlibrary loans, and works on other projects as assigned. This position may also be responsible for providing reference assistance at the Information Services desk. Qualifications: Grade 12 Diploma; Graduate of, or currently enrolled in a recognized Library Technician or MLIS program, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and library experience, customer service experience; team oriented; excellent communication skills and ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Internet searching, photocopiers, printers, fax machines and microfiche readers.
